ON THE PITCH: West Virginia Tech held perennial powerhouse University of Maine Fort Kent to no goals in the first half, setting up what was to be a thrilling finish at Shoenbaum Stadium in women's quarter final action Thursday night. University of Maine Fort Kent lit up the scoreboards early in the second with contributions from USCAA Player of the Year Katherine Ferland (50') and Yosselin Berrueco (58'). Ferland added her second goal after being taken down in the penalty box in the 83rd minute on a breakaway, sealing the 3-0 win for the number one seed and defending National Champions.
