ON THE PITCH: Two early penalties were all that Concordia Alabama would need to seal a quarter-final victory over Illinois Institute of Technology on Thursday. Diego Outeiral was the penalty taker for both first half Concordia goals at the 1st and 21st minutes of the match. Just before the end of the half, USCAA All-American Rex Meier of Illinois Tech made the game interesting, putting in what would be Illinois Tech's lone goal of the match. The match saw two weather delays as bands of thunder storms entered the Charleston area. Danilo Silva sealed the victory for the Hornets of Concordia with a 58th minute unassisted goal.
