SUNY-ESF Women Capture 3rd Consecutive National Championship
UNIONTOWN, Pa. – Held on the campus of Penn State Fayette, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the Mighty Oaks Women's Cross Country team captured their 3rd consecutive National Championship.
SUNY ESF took nine of the top fourteen as they ran away with the 2023 USCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship this morning, amassing 23 points. Johnson & Wales Charlotte was second with 88 points and Christendom College took third with 92 points.
Savannah Kuhr, the 2022 runner-up, was the overall champion on the 6k course with a time of 23:44, more than a 1-minute improvement on last year. Yenilitza Roman of JWU Charlotte took second with a time of 24:55. Another Mighty Oak from SUNY-ESF, Bryce Hopper, took third in 25:01, Angelina Pusateri from Word of Life was fourth in 25:19, while a pair of runners from SUNY-ESF in Tee Atwater (25:35) and Aubrianna Brown (25:39) took fifth and sixth. Rounding out the top 7 was Chloe Kalp of Penn State Fayette with a time of 25:47.
Those seven all earned first team USCAA All-American honors.
Finishing in eighth through 14th to earn second team USCAA All-American honors included:
